Summer Research Grant Application
The Decorative Arts Trust Summer Research Grants are is a $500 grant available to graduate students working on their thesis or dissertation. It should be used for the summer of their application year and comes with strings attached. The Decorative Arts Trust would like to receive a 500-600 word article reviewing the research for the Trust newsletter. This article, along with visuals of the objects – at least one of the student with an object, is due mid-October of the year of research. This Newsletter is sent to approximately 1200 Trust members and museums and libraries around the country.
The Decorative Arts Trusts Summer Research Grants are available to graduate students conducting research on theses and dissertations. The Trust awards at least three grants per year.
Applications are due by April 30. Grant recipients are notified by May 15. Recipients are required to submit a 500-word report on the impact of their summer research as well as at least three high-resolution digital photographs of the recipient working with objects or visiting historic sites or research libraries during his or her summer travels. These materials are due by September 30. Reports will be published in The Magazine of the Decorative Arts Trust and/or the Decorative Arts Trust Blog.
