MCHC welcomes Rebecca Johns Hackett, Associate Professor of History at Baltimore City Community College, for a closer look into the newest exhibition Stitched in Favor: 200 Years of the Historic St. James Episcopal Church. Celebrating its 200th anniversary as the oldest Black Episcopal church south of the Mason-Dixon line, and the third oldest in the country, this evening lecture highlights the community and individuals that created the embroidered samplers housed in MCHC’s collection, such as those of Frances “Fany” Bush.

Doors open at 5:30 pm. Lecture begins at 6 pm. Light reception to follow.
