From Austria to Cleveland: Medieval Stained Glass Masterpieces
Come to the CMA for a quick bite of art history. Every first Tuesday of each month, join curators, conservators, scholars, and other museum staff for 30-minute talks on objects currently on display in the museum galleries.
Join Gerhard Lutz, Robert P. Bergman Curator of Medieval Art, for a sneak peek at two newly acquired stained glass panels (c. 1410–20) before they go on view in the galleries. Lutz discusses the fascinating history of these important stained glass windows, originally from a church in the town of Leoben in Styria, Austria, and takes a look at the role stained glass played in medieval church architecture.
