David B. Warren Houston Antiques Symposium: American Legacies
Established by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, to honor Bayou Bend’s founding director emeritus, the David B. Warren Symposium has been presented biennially since 2007. The 2025 “David B. Warren Houston Antiques Symposium: American Legacies” explores the lasting impact that Ima Hogg (in Houston) and her collecting friends (across the country) had on the study of American art and antiques. During the 20th century, she and her friends established some of the most important collections and museums of American decorative and fine arts. This symposium features speakers from many of these major museums and also highlights new scholarship that reveals how these legacies continue to shape our understanding of the American past to this day.
