THE TRUST CELEBRATES 40 YEARS
Incorporated on May 16, 1977, the Decorative Arts Trust has long history of promoting and fostering the appreciation and study of the decorative arts.
On September 14th, 2017 members and friends of the Decorative Arts Trust gathered at the Wadsworth Athenaeum in Hartford, CT, to celebrate our 40th Anniversary as part of the fall symposium. Honorary Chairman Jonathan Fairbanks, past Executive Director Penny Hunt, and past President and Counsel John Hunt each offered remarks before retiring to the Athenaeum’s stunning Morgan Great Hall for a lively reception. We hope you enjoy images of the festivities found at right.
Watch Penny Hunt’s lecture delving into the Trust’s early history, adventures, and visionary founders that shaped our organization.
We are also grateful for the efforts of Penny and John Hunt, and Trust Governors Nancy Iliff, Mary Jane Pool, and Helen Scott Reed, who offered the following insights about the Trust’s 40-year evolution.
