The Decorative Arts Trust is excited to announce the newest member of our team, Carrie Greif. An alumna of the Winterthur program in Early American Material Culture, Carrie recently completed the prestigious Tiffany & Co. Foundation Curatorial Internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Carrie has served at a range of museums and cultural institutions including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Toledo Museum of Art, and Hampton National Historic Site. A world traveler, she has lived in five countries and eight cities. She believes deeply in the power of decorative arts to build community and foster meaningful experiences.

Carrie received a Summer Research Grant from the Trust in 2018 in support of her Masters thesis on the mid-century modern furniture acquired by Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library in the 1950s and 60s. This impressive project, titled “Unity by Design: Midcentury Modernism at Winterthur,” included a traditional research paper as well as a comprehensive inventory of the collection and an exhibition. Carrie presented her findings during the Trust’s 2019 Emerging Scholars Colloquium in partnership with the Classical American Homes Preservation Trust. Her lecture is available on the Trust’s Youtube channel, and her article from the Winter 2018-2019 issue of The Magazine of the Decorative Arts Trust is available too.

“I am looking forward to creating incredible opportunities for the community I care deeply about. I also hope to find creative ways to reach new audiences as the Trust continues to grow and support amazing people and objects.”
