2024 Colloquium Lecture Recordings Available

Feb 29, 2024

Select lecture recordings from the Decorative Arts Trust’s 8th Annual Emerging Scholars Colloquium in New York City are now online for all to enjoy.

The Colloquium, sponsored by Classical American Homes Preservation Trust (CAHPT) and Mr. & Mrs. Donald B. Ayres III, was held in the Park Avenue Armory’s Board of Officers Room on January 21, 2024. The grand mahogany-paneled space designed by the Herter Brothers provided a perfect backdrop for young scholars to share their new research. A sold-out crowd noshed on bagels and coffee before an inspiring welcome from CAHPT President Benjamin Prosky. The Trust’s Educational Programs Manager, Catherine Carlisle, emceed the event, introducing speakers Lauren Drapala, PhD Candidate, Bard Graduate Center, and William L. Thompson Collections Fellow, CAHPT; Neil Grasty, Undergraduate Student, Morehouse College, and Curatorial Intern, High Museum of Art; Laura Ochoa Rincon, Decorative Arts Trust Curatorial Fellow, New Orleans Museum of Art; Krishna Shekhawat, PhD Student, University of California, Berkeley; and Lea Stephenson, PhD Candidate, University of Delaware. Matthew A. Thurlow, who just celebrated his ten-year anniversary at the helm of the Trust, presented closing remarks, thanking the speakers, sponsors, and supporters who make programming like this possible.
