Lisa Minardi, Executive Director of Historic Trappe, where she overseas three historic houses and the Center For Pennsylvania German Studies, takes us on a passionate journey she and her husband, Philip Bradley, took when they purchased the dilapidated 1757 Hiester House, considered to be one of the finest examples of Pennsylvania German architecture. Their inspiring story of returning the house to its original grandeur is one of discovery, challenges, surprises, and great reward. Come and join us for this moving account of how this couple developed an ambitious and comprehensive restoration plan that included making the house livable for them in the 21st century by using modern conveniences that are discreet and sympathetic to the character of the house and which are  entirely reversible and leave as few traces as possible. Once the restoration of the house was completed, Minardi and Bradley extended their restoration plans to the furnishings and scoured the country for Hiester family furniture and other period pieces. They found some amazing pieces.
