Architectura Picta International Festival

The Architectura Picta International Festival is a celebration of Architectura Picta, the art of illusionary perspectives and architectural trompe l’oeil. After the successful inaugural edition in October 2024, the second edition of this unique and formative event will be held in the very heart of Rome, 18th -21st September 2025. The Festival is based upon an unprecedented concept: setting up a real Laboratory where decorative painters snd architects work together to unravel the secrets of the magical art of Architectura Picta, merging theory and practice, architecture and traditional art techniques. The venue of the event is the awe-inspiring Refectory of Andrea Pozzo, in Trinita’ dei Monti, the iconic church on top of Spanish Steps. Surrounded by such artistic and historical beauty, participants will spend four intensive days of practical learning and studying, guided by distinguished scholars of drawing and perspective and professionals of decorative painting. They will acquire, through a very intensive and formative Syllabus, the basic foundation to understand and engage in this art, important part of the Italian artistic heritage.
