Dye workshop
Historically, Shakers dyed their clothes a myriad of colors—blues, pinks, reds, purples and browns. Artist Brece Honeycutt will be dipping into dyepots and pulling out vibrant shades of indigo/blue, madder/red and goldenrod/yellow. Stop by to see how color is made from roots and flowers. Please feel free to drop by this workshop at the Shaker Office Building any time between noon and 3pm.
Honeycutt has an installation, anything but drab, currently on view in the historic Shaker Office at Fruitlands Museum, in conjunction with the exhibit, ‘a good many hands’ Shaker Communities Woven through Word, Image, and Object, on view in the seasonal gallery.
Workshop is free with paid admission to the 13th Annual Craft Festival. For more information on this event and on the Craft Festival visit: http://thetrustees.org/event/440624/.
