This all-day event is presented to celebrate the legacy of the Cowan Pottery Studio and the creative ingenuity of our area. No Admission Fee.
Morning Reception – 9:00am
Cowan Show and Share – 9:30am – Bring your favorite, interesting, or newly acquired pieces to share with other participants.
Crafting with the Curator – 10:00am
Join a guided tour of our current exhibit The Work of Thelma Frazier Winter and stay after to participate in a hands-on art activity inspired by the artist’s work. REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Cowan Featured Artist Craig Clifford – 1:00pm
Artist and Instructor of Ceramics at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will speak about their practice and explain how they utilize the different aspects of slip-casting in their work. “I use the technique of casting to transform found objects and forms into rich tableaus that use color and texture…”
Unlocking an Art Deco Bedroom by Joseph Urban -2:00pm- Amy Dehan, the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Curator of Decorative Arts & Design, will share research on the artist Joseph Urban. Urban played a key role in introducing Viennese modernism to American audiences. This, in turn, influenced designs created by many of the nation’s artists, including those at Cowan Pottery.
