This fall, the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center offers four new and fascinating lectures about the history of various forms of textiles through its virtual lecture series—Tea & Textiles with Caroline—on Saturday, November 11 from 1 to 5pm. Three of the lectures feature landscape in some way.  Co-Founder of Quilt and Textile Collections Lori Lee Triplett shares her knowledge of toile fabric and its pastoral scenes. Independent textile historian Kathy Lesieur shares Philadelphia samples with stepped terraces. Candace Perry, curator of collections at the Heritage Center, provides the bonus lecture on Townscape needlework pictures in its collection. The afternoon kicks off with a lecture by the Director of the Fashion Archives & Museum at Shippensburg University, Dr. Karin Bohleke, who examines Victorian braidwork on clothing and accessories.

The cost of the lectures is $20 each, with all three for $50. A free bonus lecture comes with any purchase as well as a tea bag and recipe card (so that you really can have your tea with your textiles). In addition, your ticket purchase allows you to receive a recording link so that you may watch the program up to one month after the event.
