Hunt Slonem’s Spirited Houses: Victorian Maximalism Meets Modern Art & Design
Learn about contemporary American artist Hunt Slonem’s passion for historic mansions – he has restored and furnished eight National Landmark homes, ingeniously blending his own art amidst a profusion of antique furnishings. “My homes are my life’s work – making old homes into a new form of my art” says Hunt Slonem
Our lecture about Hunt Slonem’s homes is about the artist’s idiosyncratic design style – how Hunt employs color, arranges an abundance of period furniture, and exhibits his own paintings with scores of antique portraits.
Our speaker, Brian D. Coleman, M.D. is a practicing psychiatrist in Seattle and is the author of 23 books, of which “The Spirited Homes of Hunt Slonem” is the most recent. In addition, he is an old house enthusiast and is the West Coast Editor for “Old House Journal” magazine.
