Join Drayton Hall in Downtown Charleston for a special evening with Richard Ireland, the United Kingdom’s leading conservation consultant for the repair, conservation, and restoration of historic decorative plaster and paint. As Drayton Hall undertakes the preservation of its iconic Great Hall ceiling, Ireland will share insights from his distinguished career restoring some of the most significant historic interiors in Europe.
In this engaging presentation, Ireland will discuss the artistry, craftsmanship, and conservation challenges of historic plasterwork. He will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Drayton Hall’s ongoing preservation project, giving guests a rare opportunity to understand the complexities of dismantling and reassembling the Great Hall ceiling.
