Kelly Pedigo and Emily Serpico Join Decorative Arts Trust Staff
The Decorative Arts Trust welcomes Kelly C. Pedigo as the Educational Programs Assistant and Emily R. Serpico as the Membership and Grants Coordinator. Both positions were newly created to support the Trust’s growing membership activities, program calendar, and grantmaking efforts.
Kelly will work alongside Manager of Educational Programs Catherine Carlisle and Educational Programs Coordinator Keely Edgington in organizing the Trust’s Study Trips Abroad, Symposia, Sojourns, and Special Programs. She is based in South Carolina. Her first adventure as a staff member will take her to the Brandywine Valley and Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library where she previously studied as a graduate fellow in the University of Delaware’s Winterthur Program in American Material Culture. She earned a BA in Historic Preservation with a minor in Digital Studies from the University of Mary Washington. She worked throughout her undergraduate career as a historic interpreter at a smattering of small museums in her hometown of Fredericksburg, VA. Most recently she enjoyed a tenure in the National Park Service as a park guide at the White House and President’s Park.
Emily will assist Membership Manager Jessie Dean with projects related to strengthening the Trust’s community of generous members. She will also work with Executive Director Matthew A. Thurlow and Communications and Marketing Manager Sara Long to monitor and coordinate activities related to the Trust’s Emerging Scholars Program and Prize for Excellence and Innovation. She is based at our headquarters in Media, PA. Emily shares that she is eager to play a role in not only upholding the organization’s mission, but to also connect with its many members while helping to ensure that they have meaningful experiences. She previously worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with the Delaware Tribe of Indians, and at the Schisler Museum of Natural History & McMunn Planetarium. In 2022, Emily received undergraduate degrees in Communications and History as well as a Business Writing Certification from East Stroudsburg University.
