Trust Talk Virtual Lecture

December 17, 2020, 7:00 pm ET

On December 17 at 7:00 pm ET, the Decorative Arts Trust will share a Trust Talk that focuses on all the tips and tricks of collections care. Preventive conservator Melissa King currently serves as the Samuel H. Kress Fellow in Preventive Conservation at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History and the Museum Conservation Institute. Through her academic training and professional experience she has developed a unique understanding of how to care for objects and ensure their survival for generations to come. Melissa will expand on the field of preventive conservation and how to care for objects in your home. Her talk will also explain many of the projects on which she has worked and how she has contributed to the care of fantastic museum collections. After her lecture, she will be joined in conversation with Rebecca Kaczkowski, the Preventive Conservator at Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute. The program will close with a Q&A in which you can ask Melissa all the questions you have about how to best take care of your collection. We hope you can join us!

This program is supported by the Marie and John Zimmermann Fund.
