Join Sarah Coffin, curator and head of product design and decorative arts at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, for a special member’s tour of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s, a groundbreaking show co-organized with the Cleveland Museum of Art. As the first major museum exhibition focusing on American taste in this era, the exhibit features more than 400 objects drawn from public and public collections. Furniture, interior design, clothing, and jewelry show the diverse influences on the taste and styles of the era and how they pushed traditional boundaries, whether it’s the importation of avant-garde styles from Paris or Berlin, new conventions for more liberated women, or the role of cinema in introducing modern design to mass audiences.
This tour is free of charge to all Trust members but is restricted to 25 participants per tour. Registration is limited to current members of the Trust. As per our membership policy, members at the Benefactor-level and above may register a non-member as a guest.
