2025 Colloquium Lectures Available
Recordings of the outstanding lectures presented during the Decorative Arts Trust’s 9th Annual Emerging Scholars Colloquium in New York City are now online for all to enjoy.
The Colloquium, sponsored by the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation and Mrs. Sandra Ayres, was held in the Park Avenue Armory’s Board of Officers Room on January 26, 2025. After Decorative Arts Trust Executive Director Matthew A. Thurlow welcomed attendees, Jenrette Foundation President Benjamin Prosky shared opening remarks. The Trust’s Educational Programs Manager, Catherine Carlisle, emceed the event, introducing speakers Juliana Fagua Arias, a PhD Candidate at Cornell University; Matthew Monk, the Linda Eaton Associate Curator of Textiles at Winterthur Museum; Olivia R. Scott, the Peggy N. Gerry Curatorial Fellow at The Trustees of Reservations; Lauryn Smith, PhD, an Assistant Curator at The Frick Pittsburgh; and Emily Whitted, a PhD Candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Alisa Chiles, the Sydney and Frances Lewis Family Curator of Decorative Arts, 1890 to the Present at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, presented closing remarks, thanking the speakers, sponsors, and supporters who make programming like this possible.
