CRITICAL CONVERSATION VIRTUAL PANEL DISCUSSION
December 8, 2020, 1:00-2:00 pm ET
Join the Trust for our second Critical Conversation when leaders from historic house museums in Louisiana, New York, Virginia, and Washington, DC, discuss cultivating inclusive narratives. This 45-minute panel discussion will focus on how each of these sites creates meaningful visitor experiences that are engaging for contemporary communities. The program will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A.
Monique Johnson, an expert in historic site interpretation, will moderate a panel discussion featuring Rob Fields, President and Executive Director, Weeksville Heritage Center; Rodneyna Hart, Division Director, Louisiana State Museum; Kamal McClarin, PhD, Museum Curator, National Park Service; and Susan P. Schoelwer, PhD, Executive Director for Historic Preservation and Collections and Robert H. Smith Senior Curator, George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
Critical Conversations is a quarterly lecture series hosted by the Decorative Arts Trust. In order to foster meaningful change, we are bringing leaders in the field together to discuss urgent issues facing our collective community and society.
