Trust Tour Virtual Program
November 10, 2020, 3:00 pm ET
Ralph Harvard meets us in Salem, NJ, for a visit to the venerable Abel and Mary Nicholson House, a Trust Tour you won’t want to miss! Among the most pristine examples of early Anglo-American building, the dwelling is also the most complete surviving patterned-brick structure in the country, providing a nearly complete dictionary of Baroque brickwork and masonry techniques. Although a good number of houses survive from the 18th century, the Nicholson House is one of the few that dates from the first quarter and remains in an evocative, untouched state.
Ralph will lead us on a 40-minute tour of the property, which is currently undergoing preservation. Decorative Arts Trust Executive Director Matthew Thurlow will be on site to ask questions and share in the fun. Don’t worry, you won’t need a hard hat!
Trust Tours is a monthly virtual program that gives viewers the opportunity to go behind the scenes and experience incredible collections and sites. Curators, collectors, and lovers of decorative arts share favorite objects through tours hosted on YouTube Live.
