“If it’s not fun, it’s not worth doing.” –Wharton Esherick
Join us for some fun during our August Virtual Tour at the Wharton Esherick Museum, located atop Valley Forge Mountain in Chester County, PA. The Museum is the home and studio of famed American artist Wharton Esherick (1887–1970), who is renowned for the unique and joyful expression found in his furniture and sculpture. His hand-built studio was constructed over a 40-year period beginning in 1926 and incorporates Arts and Crafts, Expressionist, and organic designs. Julie Siglin, Executive Director, and Emily Zilber, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Strategic Partnerships, will lead us on a tour of this fascinating space. Tim Andreadis, a 20th-century specialist and the Vice President and Division Director for Decorative Arts and Design at Freeman’s, will be on hand to contribute to the conversation.
The Decorative Arts Trust hosts monthly virtual tours that give viewers the opportunity to go behind the scenes and experience incredible collections and sites. Curators, collectors, and lovers of decorative arts share fascinating objects and interiors through our tours hosted on YouTube Live.
