Virtual Tour

February 26, 2021, 1:00 pm ET

The Trust is headed to Baltimore! Join us for an exciting virtual tour of the Baltimore Museum of Art while the decorative arts galleries are still closed. Brittany Luberda, Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts, will share how the museum is expanding interpretation of objects from histories of style to broader social narratives. Through a tour of both iconic and lesser-known pieces, Brittany, a past scholarship recipient through the Trust’s Emerging Scholars Program, will reveal discoveries about expanded geographic origins and new artist attributions (spoiler alert: women makers may be hiding in plain sight). This tour offers a first look at a recently updated gallery that extends the subject of American Classicism to probe topics of 19th-century empire and revolution. You won’t want to miss what is sure to be a special tour.

The Decorative Arts Trust hosts monthly virtual tours that give viewers the opportunity to go behind the scenes and experience incredible collections and sites. Curators, collectors, and lovers of decorative arts share fascinating objects and interiors through our tours hosted on YouTube Live.
