Artist talk with dach&zephir: Field Research as Design Method
Field Research as Design Method: Endangered Crafts and Local Resources in the French West Indies
The Mint Museum is pleased to welcome Florian Dach and Dimitri Zephir for their first lecture in the United States. Graduates of the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, the duo founded the creative studio dach&zephir in 2016. Conceived as an open and experimental creative space, the studio brings together their shared experiences rooted between Paris and Guadeloupe. One of their most recent key research projects, Élòj kréyòl, uses design and contemporary cultural objects to examine and reimagine the overlooked, fragmented, and forgotten cultural and craft traditions of Creole societies in the West Indies.
About the Contemporary Architecture and Design Series
Presented by Wells Fargo, the Contemporary Architecture and Design Series features talks by a select group of innovative designers who will share their practice and explore design today.
