Heroines and Heroes of the Arts & Crafts Movement
Join the Victorian Society in-person or online for its Spring Lecture series, Heroines and Heroes of the Arts & Crafts Movement. The in-person lectures will take place at NYU London on the Strand in central London, will be live-streamed or can be watched as a recording after the event. Although it might be thought that there is little more to be learned about its leading practitioners, the Society’s speakers will be drawing on a large amount of new research, much of which is highlighting the often-neglected role played by women in the Movement, which remains of direct relevance to architects, artists and designers today. Subjects include: Philip Webb, Gertrude Jekyll, Edwin Lutyens, Phoebe Anna Traquair, Charles Rennie Mackintosh & Margaret Macdonald, May Morris and Christopher Whall. Lecturers include: Clive Aslet, Max Donnelly, Caroline Ikin, Dr Elizabeth Cumming, Robyne Calvert, Lynn Hulse and Peter Cormack.
Buy 7 lectures for the price of 6 whether online or in-person! Or by a ticket for a single lecture. Funds raised go to support the work of the Society campaigning for Victorian and Edwardian built heritage.
