
Tea Ceremony + Whisking Workshop with Rebecca Corbett
Want to learn more about the Japanese tea ceremony and matcha? Join scholars Dr. Rebecca Corbett and Dr. Michelle Liu Carriger for an afternoon exploring Japanese tea culture at AMOCA.
During this one-hour event, Corbett and Carriger will share their expertise as scholars and practitioners of chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony), guiding participants through preparing their own bowl of matcha while introducing the history and practice of the Japanese tea ceremony. Every participant will prepare their own bowl of tea and enjoy a traditional sweet alongside it.
- Children and youth under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult
- Registration includes admission to the museum; you might want to plan to arrive early or stay late to explore current exhibitions. AMOCA is open from 11 AM -4 PM on Sundays.
- To help us prepare workshop materials, pre-registration is required; space is limited. Ticket sales end at noon on Friday, September 18.
